SEMOPS has conducted a two phase pilot operation in Italy for both mobile and internet transactions. Selected users were performing internet purchases and mobile payment. The general consent was that the service is easy to use and useful. Users considered the service secure and the associated expenses low compared to other payment methods.

Based on the successful reception of the new electronic payment service preparation for the commercial roll-out continues and is expected later next year.
